    Food & Friends volunteers
    Food & Friends of Jackson and Josephine counties is seeking volunteers in Ashland to serve lunches to seniors and do general cleanup at the Ashland Multi-Purpose Center, 1699 Homes Ave. Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Volunteers are asked to commit to two to four hours one day per week. The service provides hot lunches to seniors, older than 60, between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. weekdays. For information, call Anna Wysocki or Jan Baker at 541-488-9850.
    Kiwanis flag program
    The Kiwanis Club of Ashland has been placing flags around town on national holidays for over 33 years. Over 250 flags are sponsored by Ashland businesses, a few individuals, and the Ashland Kiwanis Club itself.
    Flag program participants who choose to memorialize or honor a veteran or another special person will have their flag placed along Siskiyou Boulevard during the year on selected holidays, weather permitting.
    The annual $50 subscription fee for the flag program will help support children and community programs, including AHS scholarships, AHS Key Club, Special Olympics, youth baseball and football, Nature Center field trips, school and library reading programs, Christmas gifts for the needy and others.

    The Rose Circle Mentoring Network invites residents to mentor youth. Co-ed mentor training will teach participants how to facilitate teen talking circles to support youth through individual mentoring.

    ScienceWorks seeks helpers
    ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum is looking for people to volunteer in the Black Bear Garden. A new Adopt-a-Bed program is designed for residents to take an active role, and groups or individuals are encouraged to donate their time or service projects in the garden. The program is a commitment for the gardening season, or an individual may choose to do one shift per week or as a drop-in gardener on Fridays.
