A heat advisory will be in effect from noon today until 10 p.m. Wednesday, prompted by anticipated triple digit temperatures and nighttime lows that don't go below 70 degrees.
High temperatures for Medford and Grants Pass are expected to reach 106 or 107 degrees today, only dropping to 103 Wednesday. There will be an increased risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for anyone spending time outdoors.
Everyone is encouraged to stay hydrated and stay in shaded or air conditioned spaces out of the sun. Check up on elderly neighbors, the advisory notes.
