 Posted: 12:25 PM July 11, 2014

Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Rogue Gallery and Art Center have landed state grants for educational programs.

Oregon Arts Commission awarded a total of 24 Oregon arts organizations $200,000 in 2015 Arts Learning grants to support arts education projects across the state.

OSF got $12,000 to support three-year School Visit Partnerships. The partnerships provide professional development opportunities for teachers, curricula and in-school residencies by OSF actors that include classroom workshops, assemblies and evening performances. Partnerships culminate in visits to Ashland with travel subsidies, free play tickets and free ancillary programming.

Rogue Gallery and Art Center got $4,600 to support its elementary arts outreach program, which provides visual arts lessons in Medford School District classrooms, field trips, an exhibition of student art and art kits for kids to take home.
