Folk fusion act Dum Spiro Spero mix in alternative rock and gothic Americana into their sound. The San Francisco-based trio — Anthony Yousko (accordion and saw), Bowie Johnson (guitar, banjo and vocals) and Rafael Rangell (violin) — took their name from a tattoo seen on a stranger while traveling on a train to Seattle. The band's name is Latin for "While I breathe, I hope."
Dum Spiro Spero will play at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Oberon's Tavern, 45 N. Main St., Ashland. They will be joined by singer and songwriter Boscoe's Brood and Oberon's house band, The Feckin' Tinkers. There is no cover charge.
