  • The 38th annual 4th of July Run, offering two routs — a 10-kilometer run (6.2 miles) and a two-mile run/walk — will begin at 7:45 a.m. Friday near the Ashland Library.
The event, which also ends near the library (410 Siskiyou Blvd.), is a fundraiser for the Ashland High and Phoenix High cross country teams.
Both routes are scenic and use closed-off roadways, and a section of the 10k route runs along the tree-lined Bear Creek Greenway.
Both races this year will be chip-timed, and following the races, at noon, an awards ceremony will be held at the library. All age group winners will receive a gift and all finishers will receive a ribbon at the finish line.
For more information visit the Ashland Parks & Recreation home page or call 541-488-5340.
