Kids' day coming to Crater Rock Museum

Crater Rock Museum will host a kids' day of classes on Saturday, July 12, focusing on the minerals used in creating fireworks.

Children will also be able to dig for jasper, agates, obsidian and other rocks. Classes begin at 10 a.m. at the museum, 2002 Scenic Ave., Central Point, with the last class starting at 3 p.m.

The classes, which are geared toward elementary-age children, are also open to adults. Children are admitted free, while the cost is $5 for adults and $3 for seniors.
