Volunteers are needed for several jobs at the Phoenix Community Center.
First Presbyterian Church of Phoenix, 121 W. Second St., hosts many groups, including the Phoenix Community Kitchen.
Kitchen volunteers are needed to help shop, prep, chop, cook, bake, set up, serve, bus and clean up for the free community dinners that are served from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.

The Phoenix Community Pantry needs helpers twice weekly, on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.
A variety jobs are available: stand up, sit down, stair climbing and greeting recipients.

In addition, the Phoenix Food Project is looking for neighborhood coordinators. Recruit your neighbors to fill a cool green bag — you'll pick up their donations on the second Saturday of even-numbered months and deliver them to the church.
