Matt Flynn delivered a walk-off single in the first game and pitched 4 1/3 innings of one-hit ball in the second to lead the Ashland Pilots to a sweep of Henley on Wednesday at North Mountain Park.
Flynn's bases-loaded single with two outs in the seventh plated Nick Sanderson from third and helped the Pilots take the opener 8-7. Then Flynn struck out three and surrendered only a single to help the Pilots prevail 11-1 in five innings.
In the opener, Henley fought back from a 7-1 deficit, scoring six runs in the top of the seventh to tie it up. But in the bottom of the inning the Pilots loaded the bases on two hits and a walk before Flynn ripped the game-winner to right-center.
Flynn was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Jesse Carroll 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Aaron Scott 2-for-5 with five runs to lead Ashland (5-5).
In the second game, Flynn dominated Henley and the Pilots took advantage of four errors by the visitors to pull away.
Kyle Milgram was 1-for-4 with four RBIs and finished the game early with a two-run single in the fifth. Carroll had two stolen bases and scored twice, and Jose Perez was 1-for-2 with two runs.
Ashland next hosts Weed on Friday. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
