Breidenthal takes office with National Association of Counties

 Posted: 11:50 AM May 30, 2014

Jackson County Commissioner Doug Breidenthal has been elected second vice president of the National Association of Counties' Western Interstate Region. He was selected for the position during a recent WIR Conference in Alaska, which brought together hundreds of officials from western states to discuss federal issues of concern to the West.

Breidenthal will work with the organization on addressing a number of federal issues, among them long-term funding for western counties through timber-related programs, addressing the newly proposed definition of "waters of the United States" and reauthorizing a federal surface transportation bill.
