Two Jackson County companies landed in the top 10 of Oregon Business magazine's sixth annual list of 100 Best Green Companies in Oregon.
Rogue Creamery is ranked third. This is the fifth consecutive year that the Central Point cheesemaker has been ranked as one of Oregon's 100 Best Green Companies and the second year in a row that the creamery has made the top 10.
The company uses solar energy and encourages employees to commute without cars. It is certified by Food Alliance for its sustainable practices, food safety standards and purity of products.
Standing Stone Brewing Co. in Ashland ranked sixth. This is the fifth year in a row it has landed in the top 10.
The brewpub uses meat and eggs from the company's farm located just one mile from the brewery and restaurant, has a recycling and composting program and gives a bike to employees who cycle to work.
Dagoba Chocolate, an Ashland-based subsidiary of The Hershey Co., ranked 17th.
Xanterra Parks & Resorts, which operates Crater Lake Lodge and uses a White City address, ranked 25th.
RHT Energy Solutions, a Medford-based energy engineering consulting firm, ranked 38th.
Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity in Medford ranked 65th.
Mt. Ashland Association ranked 88th.
Oregon Business magazine creates the list based on surveys sent to companies, nonprofit agencies and their employees.
