MaryGaddyHook, 59, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014. She was born in Raleigh, N.C. to the late Tom Gaddy and Maline Burnett. She was the wife of Le Hook, Production Stage Manager of The Lost Colony, and mother of two sons, David Hook, who is currently studying animation at the Memphis College of Art, and Jimmy Hook, who is a Junior at Manteo High School. She was also a sister to Becky wright of Lake Lure, N.C. and Jean DeBlasio of Wilmington, N.C.
Mary received her Bachelors of Art at UNC Chapel Hill. She was a member of the Roanoake Island Historical association, Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, and a volunteer coordinator for the Tudor Guild at both the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Alabama Shakespeare Festival. She was a librarian aid for several years at Halcyon Elementary School and she worked at the Costume Shop for The Lost Colony for eight years.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. A visitation for family and friend will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014 at Twiford Colony Chapel, 500 Budleigh St., Manteo, N.C.
