The city of Ashland will collect more public input before deciding whether to remove a kiosk on the downtown Plaza that displays flyers about community events.
The Ashland Downtown Beautification Committee had recommended the kiosk be removed. During a study session earlier this week, Ashland city councilors decided to gather more input about the kiosk before determining its fate.
The kiosk is a popular place to post flyers about everything from musical events to classes to fundraisers. While some residents and visitors appreciate seeing the flyers, others have said they look cluttered and are too exposed to the weather.
A separate information kiosk on the Plaza that is staffed by volunteers is undergoing renovations.
