An unidentified snowshoer has been missing inside Crater Lake National Park since April 28, according to a news release from the park.
Park officials received a report of a missing visitor on the morning of April 30. Searchers found a set of snowshoe tracks leading onto a collapsed cornice near the crater rim above the lake, the release said.
The search is ongoing but has been scaled back following extensive air and ground search efforts, the release said, and a lakeshore search by boat will occur when access is possible.
Park rangers have also located the missing hiker's vehicle parked in the Rim Village area.
Park officials were not immediately available for comment.
