The Dutch Bros. will donate all proceeds from Saturday, May 2, to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in its annual "Drink One For Dane Day."
The company's locations in all seven states donate the funds in honor of Dutch Bros. co-founder, Dane Boersma, who was diagnosed with the degenerative nerve disease Lou Gehrig's disease, or ALS, in 2005 and died in 2009.
"We are eternal optimists and believe one day there will be a cure for ALS," Travis Boersma, company co-founder and Dane's brother, said in a news release. "The services provided to families facing this disease are so vital, and we are pleased to support those families."
Dutch Bros. has contributed more than $900,000 to the MDA since the annual event started in 2007.
