Local attorneys favor incumbent Peterson for circuit judgeship

 Posted: 11:50 AM April 23, 2014

Jackson County attorneys surveyed in an Oregon State Bar poll chose incumbent Adam Peterson as their preference for Jackson County Circuit Court judge Position 2.

Peterson, who was appointed by Gov. John Kitzhaber in 2013, garnered 57 votes in the poll. Challengers David Hoppe, a Jackson County deputy district attorney, received 12 votes, and William Francis, a Medford criminal defense attorney, received four.

The OSB sent ballots to Jackson County attorneys on April 7 and closed the voting on Monday. Voters will decide on the judgeship, a nonpartisan position, in the May 20 primary.
