OSF, SOU benefit from National Endowment for the Arts grants

 Posted: 1:20 PM April 17, 2014

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University received a collective $100,000 in grant funding from the National Endowment for the Arts to support arts-based activities and events.

OSF received $80,000, which will support a production of "The Two Gentlemen of Verona," featuring an all-female cast. The grant also will support a series of preparatory and post-performance programming offered to promote dialogue about gender issues and the production itself.

SOU received the other $20,000 to support a project called Sight, Insight, Incite, a series of artist lectures, conversations and demonstrations that will complement Schneider Art Museum programming.

Correction: The organization granting the funds has been corrected in this version throughout.
