 Posted: 12:00 PM April 07, 2014

Five volunteer groups from Ashland took to the trails in Lithia Park and spread bark chips on the muddy ground Saturday, according to a news release.

Twenty-two volunteers from Kiwanis, Soroptimist, Lions, Rotary Club of Ashland and Lithia Springs Rotary hit the trails with pitch forks, shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows. They spread a two inches of chips made from recycled Christmas trees and other fuel reduction materials over muddy trails.
