  • Two Oregon high school students are vying for a chance to record music in Nashville.
Kayla Turner, an Ashland High School senior, and her cousin Emily Baker, a North Eugene High School junior, make up the group K & E Music. Their original song "Deeper in Love" is a wild card finalist in Dark Horse Institute's dream recording contest.
Other finalists were selected through online voting and the Oregon teens were picked by staff of Dark Horse Recording and the studio's affiliated school in Franklin, Tenn.
Online voters will select a winner, who will get lodging in Nashville during a five-day recording session, a professional photo shoot and a professionally mastered six-song EP with cover art, a prize package worth $15,000.
Supporters can vote daily through March 31 at www.darkhorseinstitute.com/nashville-dream-recording-contest. The winner will be announced April 1.
