    Edward J. Karlovich Jr., of Ashland, Ore. passed away peacefully Monday, March 17, 2014. He was born September 19, 1954 to Edward and Barbara in Connelsville, Pa. He was a graduate of Mechanicsburg High School (PA), Penn State University, and the University of Denver.
    Everyone loved Ed Karlovich! He had friends all over the country. He was a loving father, beloved older brother to a large close-knit family, and a well-respected friend and neighbor in the community. He was a talented guitarist and vocalist. His most satisfying moments in music were the times he and his son jammed together. He loved cooking and playing games with his family, particularly with his daughter. Ed's spirit, courage, and determination inspired and amazed everybody.
    Ed was an accomplished businessman. He worked in various positions across the U.S. He was a co-owner and builder of a hotel in Winter Park, Colo., manager of the Edward Jones office in Talent, Ore., and founder of the Talent Chamber of Commerce among many other accomplishments.
    He is survived by his children, Ryland and Jessie of Ashland, Ore.; his father, Edward Karlovich Sr. and step-mother Marcia Bailey Karlovich of Grand Rapids, Mich.; brothers and sisters, Kathy Johnson of Harrisburg, N.C., Paul Karlovich of Hillsdale, Mich., Barbara Jane Siler of Mechanicsburg, Pa., David Karlovich of Russell, Pa., John Karlovich of Fredericksburg, Va., Robert Karlovich of San Jose, Calif., and Michael Karlovich of Portland, Ore.; and his fiance, Maggie McCauley of Ashland, Ore; and many other family members and friends including Jon Warren and Kathy Karlovich, Ashland, Ore.
    Ed will be dearly missed by friends, family, and all those lives he touched.
    A memorial gathering will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Best Western Windsor Inn, Ashland, Ore. For family and friends on the East coast, another memorial gathering will be held in August 2014 in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
