Tidings follows corporate pattern

Copying the Medford daily, your editorial decision was effectively to censor the very bad news in regard to global climate catastrophe.

When two of the finest independent scientific organizations in the world publish an accessible and clear statement in regard to our radically and dangerously changing global climate, surely such a report deserves front-page notice.

But the report itself concludes, realistically, that only by radically changing our pattern of energy production and usage in order to limit emissions of greenhouse gases may we limit the magnitude of devastating climate change. In other words, we must fundamentally change our global mode of production: we must transcend capitalism. That position alone explains why the corporate media will never give full voice to the growing scientific evidence that our economic system is destroying the ecological basis of human existence.

Please vote to retain Judge Adam Peterson

"A judge shall observe high standards of conduct so that the integrity, impartiality and independence of the judiciary are preserved and shall act at all times in a manner that promotes public confidence in the judiciary and the judicial system." Oregon Code of Judicial Conduct

Adam Peterson is such a judge. Judge Peterson has met the highest standards of vetting before he was appointed. He meets these high standards of conduct daily as he works as our Circuit Court Judge.

You don't have to take my word for it. Call your lawyer and ask her/him. You could go by the court to watch him. You may even take my word for it. However, you evaluate him you will find Judge Adam Peterson meets the "high standards of conduct" the Oregon Code requires and we citizens of Jackson County demand.

Please vote to retain him.

G. Philip Arnold

Senior Circuit Judge
