The coordinator of a new therapeutic riding program for women who are experiencing the rigors of breast cancer treatment will talk about her work at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Peace House, 543 S. Mountain St., Ashland.
Trish Broersma, equine facilitator and coordinator for Riding Beyond, will speak in the upstairs meeting room at Peace House. She will talk about how the program aims to revitalize the whole person and help heal emotionally, physically and spiritually through guided interactions with horses.
Broersma is a PATH International certified therapeutic riding instructor, certified equine specialist and past president of the Equine Facilitated Mental Health Association. She leads the Riding Beyond equine therapy program with the assistance of specially trained volunteers and horses.
The presentation is free, but donations will be accepted.
