  • Ashland Independent Film Festival's executive director announced she will step down at the conclusion of the 13th annual event in April.
Anne Ashbey cited personal reasons for her departure after two years at the helm of the festival.
"Please know that I remain committed to AIFF, to ensuring the success of our April 2014 event and to maintaining the long-term viability of our nonprofit arts organization," Ashbey said in a written statement. "I have complete confidence that we have the leadership in place to manage a successful transition and look forward to being an ongoing contributor to this wonderful organization.
The current board accepted Ashbey's resignation and has formed a search committee to look for the festival's new executive director. Ashbey will stay on during the transition period. She will return to serve on the board of directors once her replacement has been selected.
A job description is available on the AIFF website, www.ashlandfilm.org. Candidates must have three or more years of nonprofit experience, three or more years of management experience and "demonstrated ability to secure public and private grants, major gifts, donations and sponsorships," according to the description. A letter of application and resume should be emailed to aiffedsearch@ashlandfilm.org.
AIFF board president Pam Leandro Notch said the new director could be local, but that the festival is casting a wide net to get the best possible candidate.
The festival will be held April 3-7 in Ashland.
