Oregon Cabaret Theatre kicks off its 29th season with "Double Trouble," a show created in 2001 with a score — written by brothers Jim and Bob Walton — in the style of a 1940s musical comedy. The two-man cast portrays a team set on writing songs for Hollywood movies, and the score is tailor-made for two hoofers. Galen Schloming and John Keating play Jimmy and Bobby Martin. Jim Giancarlo directs and choreographs, and piano accompaniment is provided by Sarah Wussow.
The show previews Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 5-6, and opens Friday, Feb. 7. Curtain is at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays through March 30 at OCT, at First and Hargadine streets. Matinees are set for 1 p.m. Sundays.
Preview tickets cost $19; other tickets cost $20 to $38. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, online at www.oregoncabaret.com or by calling 541-488-2902. Dinner reservations begin at 6:30 p.m. for evening shows; brunch begins at 11:30 a.m. for 1 p.m. matinees. Appetizers, beverages and desserts do not require reservations.
