A new science exhibit focusing on the science of flight is on display at Kid Time! Discovery Experience in Medford.
The Take Flight exhibit features a variety of hands-on demonstrations and scientific information. Exhibit attendees can experiment in the construction and launch of paper rockets, test paper airplane models and learn about the science of flight.
ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum volunteers created the exhibit. It toured the country four years ago, with setups in various science centers and flight museums across the U.S.
"When Kid Time! announced its funding challenges, we immediately began thinking about what we could do," ScienceWorks executive director Chip Lindsey said in a news release. "Take Flight is fun and engaging and has always been a draw wherever it has been exhibited. If it can be useful to Kid Time!, then we want to help."
Kid Time! is located at 106 N. Central Ave. in Medford. It is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission costs $8 per child and $4 per adult. Children under one year of age get in free. Visit www.kid-time.org for more information.
ScienceWorks will follow the exhibit up with an entire weekend dedicated to flight, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8-9 at the museum, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland. Those who wake up early enough may even get a chance to ride in a hot air balloon, depending on the weather. Visit www.scienceworksmuseum.org for more information.
