Larry Neil Robin passed away peacefully January 7, 2014 at home with his family present. Larry was the only child of Lester and Vesta (Hibbert) Robin, and was born December 1, 1938 in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Larry grew up in Bly, Oregon and was Valedictorian of his graduating class. As soon as he was old enough he spent summers logging with his father and uncles in southeastern Oregon. He attended Southern Oregon College in Ashland, Oregon excelling in mathematics.After furthering his education, Larry both taught and coached schools in Merrill and Rogue River as well as Rogue Community College.
He served in the Army where he again was able to utilize his education by teaching in Caracas, Venezuela.
Larry loved western movies, dining out, and playing dominoes with his family. The four legged critters, three dogs and one kitten, were a special part of the family. He was an avid San Francisco 49er fan and enjoyed watching football games with friends. He also like to travel and made several trips to Montana to visit family.
After a long distance courtship Larry traveled to the Philippines to meet his future wife, Merlita. They were married in 1996 in the Philippines and several months later Merlita was able to join her husband in their Rogue River home. A beautiful baby girl was born in August of 1998 named Neikko Lorae.
Larry is survived by his wife, daughter, and several cousins.
A mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the chapel at the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinic in White City, Ore. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
