Burglary suspect leaves Debby's Diner empty handed

 Posted: 11:50 AM January 15, 2014

A lone burglar broke into Debby's Diner this morning, but didn't steal any property or cash, police said.

The attempt was first reported at 5:11 a.m. today at the restaurant, 3808 S. Pacific Highway in Phoenix. Grainy surveillance video shows the lone suspect attempting to enter, police said.

"It looked like they tried to pry the front door open, and the frame twisted probably and shattered the window," said Jackson County Sheriff's Department deputy Michael Hermant.

With the alarm sounding, the suspect made a quick entrance to the restaurant before bolting empty-handed, Hermant said. No description was immediately available.
