Allison Gida answered the call for a short-handed Southern Oregon University women's basketball team in Washington with the biggest weekend of her career.
By setting career highs in points, rebounds, assists and steals, the former Ashland High standout made it easy on voters Monday to make her the Red Lion Cascade Conference Player of the Week for the first time.
Taking over for injured point guard Ashley Claussen as SOU's primary ballhandler, Gida recorded 17 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists and six steals in Friday's 86-72 win at Evergreen State.
One night later, she went for 26 points, 13 rebounds and three assists in a 101-94 win at Northwest University.
The 5-foot-11 senior guard went a combined 13-for-27 from the field and 16-for-26 from the free-throw line.
In 16 games this season, she's shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range with averages of 12.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
Gida is the third Raider to earn the honor this season after Carly Meister and Kristen Schoenherr.
The Raiders (16-4 overall, 5-3 CCC) are tied for third place in the conference standings going into Saturday's key clash against 20th-ranked Oregon Tech at Bob Riehm Arena. Tickets are on sale now at the SOU athletic office.
