Emergency prep workshops set for businesses

 Posted: 12:10 PM January 13, 2014

Ashland Fire & Rescue and Ashland Community Emergency Response Team will help businesses get ready for disasters in a series of workshops.

The first workshop, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, will focus on identifying risks to people, property and business functions, then on assessing resources to help limit risk. The workshop, at Ashland Fire & Rescue's Station No. 1, 455 Siskiyou Blvd., is free, but registration is required.

Additional workshops will be held 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, and Wednesday, March 19, at the fire station.

The Ashland Chamber of Commerce is a partner in the program. Businesses that complete the program can earn an insignia that can be put on storefronts to tout preparedness.

Call Ashland CERT at 541-552-2226 or visit for more information.
