Phoenix put the clamps on Ashland's leading scorers in the second half and posted a 50-28 nonconference victory in Ashland.

Georgia Williams and Michaela Dunn scored 19 of the Grizzlies' 23 first-half points, but they were held to two in the third and fourth quarters. Ashland (5-7) managed just five points after intermission.

Williams scored 12 points and Dunn nine for the game.

Bailee Tally scored 13 first-quarter points on perfect shooting to ignite the Pirates (8-3). Tally was 4-for-4 from the field, including two 3-pointers, and 3-for-3 at the free-throw line in the opening period. She totaled 19 points to lead all scorers.

Baylee Toney recorded 15 points and 15 rebounds for Phoenix. Point guard Amanda Skaff turned in a solid all-around game with four points, six steals, five assists and four rebounds.
