Phoenix Community Kitchen hosts its first free community dinner of 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the First Presbyterian Church, 121 W. Second St., Phoenix.
The dinner will be white bean turkey chili, cornbread, salad and homemade desserts, including fruit crisp, parfaits and cookies.
The nonprofit Phoenix Community Kitchen provides free meals twice a month. A team of volunteers shops, prepares and serves the food. During the dinner, drawings are held for food prizes. Community members from all walks of life and all ages are welcome.
