A weekend event devoted to learning about the science of fire and ice returns to ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum this weekend.

The Fire & Ice Weekend will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, and Sunday, Jan. 12, at the museum at 1500 E. Main St.

The event will feature numerous exhibits and experiments devoted to fire and ice, including cutting ice with a knife, creating different colors of fire and making liquid nitrogen ice cream. Admission costs $9 for adults, $7 for children ages 2 to 12, and $7 for senior citizens 65 and older. Teachers get in free with ID.
