La Clinica's Mobile Health Center, a 40-foot clinic on wheels, is out of commission for the remainder of the week, thanks to stubbornly slick streets.
Coordinator David Dismuke said the team hoped to be back in service today, but made the decision to wait after surveying icy roadways. The health center is a large, heavy vehicle not designed for travel on ice.
"It's just too treacherous, and we want to keep our staff safe," he said in a statement released today.
The health center will resume its regular schedule Monday. That includes weekly visits to North and South Medford and Phoenix high schools, Roosevelt and Wilson elementary schools, St. Vincent de Paul, the Salvation Army and the First United Methodist Church in Ashland.
