Get a discount on a state park permits

Oregon State Park day-use permits can be purchased for a discounted rate through Dec. 31, according to a release from Oregon Parks & Recreation Department.

The 12-month pass can be purchased for $25, down from its regular $30 price. A 24-month pass can be purchased for $50.

The Oregon Coast Passport is also discounted $5 in December. The passport is valid at Oregon State Parks, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service sites along the Oregon Coast. The coastal passports are on sale for $30, down from its regular $35 price, in December.

The permits are available at vendors around the state. Find a list at www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=v.page&;id=30. They also can be bought by calling the Oregon State Parks Information Center at 1-800-551-6949.
