The cultural imprint left by the region's pioneer cemeteries will be the focus of an upcoming Windows in Time talk, "Appreciating and Protecting Our Outdoor Museums," to be given by Dirk J. Siedlecki on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave., and Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Boulevard. Both presentations start at noon.

Siedlecki is the president of the Friends of Jacksonville's Historic Cemetery, chairman of Jacksonville's Cemetery Commission and vice chairman of Oregon's Commission on Historic Cemeteries, on which he has served since 2006.

The monthly Windows in Time lunchtime lectures are offered free on the first and second Wednesdays. For information, call Jackson County Library Services at 541-774-6996 or 541-774-8689 or the Southern Oregon Historical Society at 541-899-8123 or visit
