This year, The Rogue Suspects has not only expanded its funk and blues repertoire but also revived several classic songs, adding a soulful, Motown spin, according to frontman and bassist Greg Frederick.
Some of these remakes are songs by Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Prince, in addition to several more obscure artists.
The Suspects includes Frederick, guitarist Dirk Price, keyboardist Don Harriss, drummer David Bolen and vocalist Shae Johnson, who was recently invited to collaborate with Grammy- and Emmy-winning producer, musician and recording artist Narada Michael Walden.
The band will perform a free show at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at The Playwright Public House, 258 A St., Ashland; and LEFT, a smaller configuration of the band, will play at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Alex's Plaza Restaurant, 35 N. Main St., Ashland. The cover to the show at Alex's is $5.
