Ten years ago, Portland-based musician Tim Snider set out on his first tour, opening for Texas-born, London-based singer and songwriter Rodney Branigan.
Now, on the 10-year anniversary of the collaboration, the pair is touring again and will co-headline a show at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at The Playwright, 258 A St., Ashland. The cover is $10.
Snider plays and loops the electric violin, guitar, percussion and vocals to create a style that has been dubbed a "world-folk-jazz hybrid." He's typically a one-man band, but on his new, rhythm-driven original album, "Let Go, Jump in the River," released last May, he is accompanied by a handful of musical friends.
Branigan has mastered guitar, mandolin, piano and percussion and can play two and, sometimes even three, instruments simultaneously. (Check out his YouTube videos if you don't believe it.)
