  • People can recycle or get rid of unwanted electronics from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Jackson County Roads auditorium, at 200 Antelope Road. Enter the parking lot from Mosquito Lane off Table Rock Road.

  • People can recycle or get rid of unwanted electronics from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Jackson County Roads auditorium, at 200 Antelope Road. Enter the parking lot from Mosquito Lane off Table Rock Road.
    The event is designed to keep potentially hazardous and valuable materials used in electronics out of landfills, organizers said.
    Computers, monitors, printers, copiers, cell phones, televisions, cameras and other assorted electronics can be dropped off for free. Volunteers will help remove hard drives and give people the option of keeping the drive for safe-keeping or having it destroyed for $5. The fee will go toward county education about recycling.
    From 2 to 4 p.m. people can browse the items dropped off and take things to reuse for free.
    The event is hosted by Jackson County Information Technology, Jackson County Solid Waste, Jackson County SMARTWorks and ECS Refining. Appliances will not be accepted. The items listed below will be accepted.
