  • Hannah Borgerson and Jordan Tilley helped Ashland inch closer in each set but ultimately the Grizzlies couldn't hang with one of the top 6A teams in the state.
Roseburg handed Ashland a straight-game loss in its regular season finale, 25-16, 25-18, 25-20, Tuesday at Mountain Avenue Gym.
Borgerson, a senior outside hitter, had 17 digs and three kills, and Tilley, a junior setter, finished with 19 assists, four kills and two blocks. Also for Ashland (6-14), Hope Baldrica had seven kills and Ellie Case five kills and two blocks.
Roseburg (23-3) has won nine of its last 10 matches.
Ashland now must wait to find out how far it will have to travel for a Class 5A play-in match to be played next week. The top eight teams in the final OSAA rankings, which freeze Saturday, automatically qualify for the 16-team state tournament. Ashland was ranked 23rd on Tuesday night.
