Investigators are looking into the "suspicious" death of a person found inside a home at the Bear Creek Mobile Home Park in Ashland.
Jackson County sheriff's deputies were performing a welfare check at the residence at 4:30 p.m. Thursday when they found a body inside the home, sheriff's officials said in a news release.
The residence sits just off Corral Lane, between Interstate 5 and South Pacific Highway.
Detectives from the Major Assault and Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) are investigating the case. Officials have labeled the death suspicious, but have not determined how the person died.
Detectives know the identity of the subject and are working to notify the next of kin. The person's identity is not being released at this time, officials said.
