You can vote today to help Dogs for the Deaf of Central Point win a new car.
Dogs for the Deaf is one of 250 finalists in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program, which will award vehicles to 100 nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public beginning Oct. 1.
Today is the day to vote for Dogs for the Deaf. Go to www.DogsForTheDeaf.org and follow the link to the voting site or go to Facebook.com/Toyota.
Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program will showcase five nonprofit organizations each day for 50 days. Visitors to the voting page will receive two votes each day for organizations they feel deserve new Toyota vehicles. Dogs for the Deaf is one of five organizations highlighted for voting today.
If Dogs for the Deaf is one of the top vote-getters and is awarded the vehicle, it will be used to rescue dogs from shelters. The vehicle will also be used to transport dogs, trainers and equipment during training.
A news release from Dogs for the Deaf said the organization's current vehicles are too small and old, adding that a new reliable vehicle will help carry out the group's mission of rescuing dogs and helping people.
