The second annual Beekeepers Ball will kick off at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way.

The event is a fundraiser for Bee Girl, a honey bee conservation and beekeeping education group. They mentor new beekeepers, have spoken to thousands of Oregonians about bee conservation, assisted in establishing a beekeeping club at Southern Oregon University and started the Farming for Bees initiative.

The $9 ticket gets attendees into the event, while $18 tickets cover admission and dinner served by Figgy's Food Truck. You can buy tickets or make donations at www.beegirl.org.

The event will boast music and a silent auction. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as bees, beekeepers, flowers or in yellow and black.
