Jelly Bread returns to Ashland with its rollicking Americana, churchy gospel, swampy blues and "deep-fried funk."
The band, which hails from Reno, Nev., plays at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Alex's Plaza Restaurant and Bar, 35 N. Main St., Ashland.
Jelly Bread owes its twang to vocalist and lap-steel guitarist Dave Berry and its groove to drummer Cliff Porter and bassist Brady Carthen. Eric Matlock fills out the Southern sound on keys.
Last year, the band's album "No Dress Code" was voted Best Album of 2012 by Reno News & Review.
Cover to the show at Alex's is $5. Call 541-482-8818 or see www.jellybread.net.
