Darlene Peabody, 74, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 15, 2013, after a lengthy illness. She was born March 10, 1939 to Minor and Zelda Skinner in Ashland, Ore.
She attended high school in Phoenix, Ore. On September 6, 1957 she married Earl Peabody and remained so for 56 years. She was employed at Scenic and C.P.E. schools in Central Point, Ore. for 18 years and retired from Providence Hospital after 17 years. Darlene enjoyed camping, sewing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Earl; sons, Jeff and Craig (Renee) Peabody, all of Central Point, Ore.; daughter-in-law, LeAnn Peabody of Eagle Point, Ore.; four sisters, Maxine Beebe and Sandra Weaver of Medford, Ore., Betty Ragan Konopasek of Jacksonville, Ore., and Charlotte Grigsby of Central Point, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, son Rusty, three brothers, and a sister. At her request no services will be held.
There will be a celebration of her life with family and friends at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at her home.
