Donna Briggs, who has been the Britt Festivals executive director for the past two years, has new title, but her responsibilities will remain much the same.
Briggs has been named president and chief executive officer for the 51-year-old music and arts non-profit enterprise, a news release today announced.
Chairman Ken Trautman said the shift more properly reflects the role Briggs has played and follows a national trend among non-profit organizations. Briggs has handled day-to-day Britt operations, while the board has keyed on policy and long-term oversight.
"The change reflects the way things have been going at Britt and how it's operated," Trautman said. "The board has nothing to do with staff or day-to-day operations. It's been a smoother running organization and we've been able to do things we couldn't do before."
No new responsibilities or additional compensation were part of the change.
