The Southern Oregon athletic department announced Thursday that Ashland's RedZone Sports Bar N' Grill will sponsor the SOU tailgate area during the four home football games this year.
SOU started a special tailgate area last year that allows fans to tailgate prior to home football games.
"Tailgating is a fun and traditional way of enjoying the football experience at SOU," RedZone co-owner Austin Loreman said. "We want to support that and be part of something that is exciting for alums, parents, Raider fans and the community."
The RedZone, co-owned by Loreman and Rick Krebs, is also a corporate partner with the SOU athletic department and sponsor of the annual Red Zone football alumni golf tournament. The RedZone Sports Bar N' Grill is located in downtown Ashland at 303 East Main Street.
The official tailgating area at SOU home games is located in the lower parking lot below Raider Stadium at the corner of Wightman and Iowa Streets. Individual spots cost $25 per game, but the price is lowered to $20 per game is purchasing multiple games. Payment entitles tailgaters to one parking spot and an additional spot adjacent to the parking spot. Those who sign up for at least three games will receive an official "SOU Tailgater" t-shirt.
