Ashland Fire & Rescue presents two "Ashland Is Ready" classes, one from 8 a.m. to noon and the second from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland.

Attendees will build and take home a readiness kit that includes emergency supplies such as water, first aid kit, food bars, flashlight, towelettes, survival blanket and more. The kit is valued at more than $30. More information is available at

This event is sponsored by Asante, Shop 'N' Kart, and Ashland CERT. Questions about the workshop can be directed to Ashland Fire & Rescue at 541-482-2770.
