A California man was jailed in Jackson County on more than $1 million bail after drug investigators reportedly found 9 ounces of methamphetamine in his car near Ashland Friday morning.
According to a news release from Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team, investigators arrested 36-year-old Saul Rosales, believed to be from Santa Rosa, Calif., on charges of delivery, manufacture and possession of meth.
Police said they had received a tip that he was involved in a large-scale methamphetamine distribution operation throughout Southern Oregon, including in Ashland.
They stopped him at about 10:34 a.m. Friday in a 2004 Volvo with California license plates on Eagle Mill Road at Butler Creek Road in Ashland, the news release said. A drug-sniffing dog indicated there were drugs in the vehicle and a subsequent search found nine packages of meth, officials said.
Rosales was lodged in Jackson County Jail, where he remained Friday afternoon on $1,015,000 bail.
