Blackstone Audio plans fundraiser

 Posted: 12:00 PM August 14, 2013

Blackstone Audio will hold a fundraiser for the Ashland Emergency Food Bank from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at 31 Mistletoe Road, Ashland.

Blackstone will open its warehouse and sell more than 50,000 copies of thousands of new CD audio books at discounted prices of $7, or $5 with the purchase of three or more audio books. Some MP3 audio books and cassette audio books also will be available, two for $7. Half of this year's proceeds will benefit the Ashland Emergency Food Bank.

"Unlike previous fundraisers this year's event will only be an audiobook sale, not a family fair as well, but we believe that we will still be able to raise a good amount of money for the food bank," Rick Bleiweiss, Blackstone's head of business development, said in a statement. "We'll have a lot of titles we've never offered before."

This year's product offerings will include titles from Blackstone, AudioGO, BBC America, and BBC UK. A sampling of series, titles and authors that will be for sale includes "Fawlty Towers," "Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy," "Torchwood," Dr. Who, Sherlock Holmes, "Roots," "King Solomon's Mines," "Three Musketeers," John Le Carre, Agatha Christie, Daniel Dafoe, Rex Stout, Shakespeare, Ann Bronte and Karin Slaughter.
