The Mt. Ashland Hillclimb Run is still tentatively set to kick off at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, but race officials say the 13.3-mile trek up Mt. Ashland to the summit could be canceled as late as the morning of the race, depending on air quality levels.
The race's website, www.mtashlandrun.com, said that decision will be based on air quality readings taken by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. If the air quality index rates the air as "unhealthy" or worse, the race will not be run.
