  • Talent police will work to educate drivers and enforce pedestrian right-of-way laws from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the intersection of Highway 99 and West Valley View Road.
The operation focuses on drivers failing to yield to a pedestrian who will cross repeatedly in the crosswalk. Drivers should be aware there is a crosswalk at every intersection, whether it is marked or unmarked.
Violators will be stopped and cited for failure to stop and remain stopped for a pedestrian in a crosswalk and passing a vehicle stopped at a crosswalk. Both violations carry a presumptive fine of $260.
Officers also will stop drivers for other violations such as illegal cell phone use by drivers and seatbelt violations, officials said.
